Pairing Swallowtails. Citrus swallowtails are quick to pair up. Like all butterflies, the male grabs the female's abdomen with his pair of claspers. He'll hang on like this for hours on end, even if the female decides to fly around. This species often lives just seven days; half a day of which is spent pairing.
