Blue banded Morpho achilles

A South American Beauty. Matt black and broad blue bands distinguish this species from other Morphos. It is found over a huge range from Colombia down to Paraguay. Like the other species of Morphos, it is fond of rotting fruit and tree sap. They roost in loose groups at night. It is rarely seen in butterfly displays.
