A trip to the butterfly house provides an ideal learning experience for pupils of all ages.
All tours cover Key Stages 1 & 2 for insect life cycles, classification and living organsisms. The hothouse atmosphere and giant foliage plants give a first-hand introduction to a tropical rain forest environment. Weather permitting, bug hunts in the wildlife garden or neighbouring woodlands are also available.
More advanced tours can be tailored to a special theme such as rain forests. Tours are available in Welsh for group sizes up to 15 pupils.
Please phone us on 01970 880928 for more information.

Please note that next door to us, the Hydro-electric scheme owned by E.on offers free group tours around the station (Tel. 01970 880667). Some coach parties have found it useful to split in two and alternate between the two attractions. Coach parking, toilets and canteen (May to September) are available. There is also large playing field adjacent to the butterfly house ideal for picnics or simply a safe place for letting off some steam!
The neighbouring field has ample space for picnics and letting off steam
